The Organizational Systems And Process Analysis Part Of...

Phase 1 Phase 1 consisted of the organizational systems and process analysis part of the project. During this phase the project, we held various meetings to discuss workload, roles, and timelines to finish Phase 1. We met with Stacy for a 1:1 description of the culture training program and what JustSave was trying to accomplish with it. In addition, we held a focus group at JustSave stores to get a better understanding of the systems in place in the areas of opportunity to focus on moving forward in the project. We did several things wellness part of the project including: delegating roles based on our personal strengths, keeping our work ahead of schedule using our timeline, pulling information from various class resources on conducting†¦show more content†¦Despite doing so many things well, I believe we could have improved the project early on by tackling several weaknesses that were pervasive throughout Phase 1-3. For instance, very early on there was disagreement on the focus of the process maps. This disagreement was between focusing on the culture training itself or the manifestation of culture within the JustSave stores. This disagreement over focus caused our early process maps to delay the progress of Phase 1 and the redrawing of several process maps over a period of time until we could come to an agreement. Our focus group was also impeded due to the lack of input over the questions that were to be asked and our inability to maintain the conversation to the scope of our project rather than the minute details that we would not be able to change in the stores. This cost us a valuable 30 to 45 minutes in focus group time as we would’ve been able to focus more on the underlying processes rather than particular aspects of a single JustSave store. If I were to go back and redo our initial focus group, I would have scheduled 1 to 2 more meetings with our project group to narrow down our scope and focus so that we could of been more efficient and effective with our time. Phase 2 This phase of the project focused on mapping out the newly proposed systems and

However, the fact remains that tango dancing has been influenced by different dance forms which were already existing at that time. It had its early origin in Argentina, and its development into a dance as we know today can be credited to the Africans, Europeans and of course the local population. Tango Dancing Unraveled The Argentine city places of Montevideo and Buenos Aries were inhabited by black slaves. This region was the only one where these slaves enjoyed some degree of freedom. They would often gather together and celebrate their little moments of free expression by dancing and merry-making. The terms used or associated with Argentine tango dancing like Canoodle, Cangues or Mailing had their origin in the African culture. The dance forms originally had a spiritual, social and also political reflections of the contemporary conditions. After some years, the Spanish and lived their life on their own accord. These people were forced to come to the colonies from their mother country. Naturally, they expressed their resentment spending most of the time playing music, singing and dancing. This community came in contact with the local culture, and the heterogeneous ultra exchange that evolved consequently gave rise to the basic elements of tango dancing. It was a crude art form initially, yet had a distinct identity. Later on, more and more European migrants flooded South America, bringing along a wealth of classy art forms typical of the higher class European society. The economic scene was not all too encouraging. The migrants therefore lived in large community houses or hostels. This led to a wide interaction between the local communities, and hence more refining of the tango dancing style. The shortage of Job and work opportunities gave them a big chance to perfect their once moves and convert their hobby into a more organized and developed dance form. Also, during this period, Italian artists and musicians contributed heavily to the rise of the tango. Another major reason why the tango evolved manifold was the sex ratio of the region. The influx of a huge migrant population led to a deeply uneven male-female ratio. Males outnumbered women by dozens. In order to win their girls there began a dignified race amongst the young men to woo the girls.Dancing parties served as the right platform to impress the females. This made men practice nagging harder and harder, which eventually led to a glorious polishing and refinement of Argentine tango dancing. Similarly, prostitutes added the sensual flavor to tango dance by trying to entice good looking men by their sexually expressive moves. Gradually, tango dancing grew in popularity and very soon there were musical shows, theatrical performances, tango music and orchestras, buzzing all over the higher class neighborhoods. Argentine tango dancing reached the zenith of its popularity, when it took Europe by storm.Paris especially, was crazy about this dance form, long with tango stockings, tango shoes, hats, Jackets and orange, the color of tango, flooding its streets. Here, it also incorporated some features of ballroom dancing, waltz and ballet dancing. The raw sensuality with a touch of elegance and class made it even more popular. Tango dancing continued to flourish in the rich and poor societies alike, even during the times of the World Wars. It came back to Argentina as an exceedingly rich art, similar to a young lad who had set out of his homeland to seek his fortune and came back after amassing a lot of wealth. It suffered a slight setback in the sass, when the Junta rule banned its practice. Later, it was revived with efforts of many interested foreign artists, who spread its popularity to the US and the other corners of the globe. Since then, it continues to hold the world in awe with its magnificent form, which is form! Waltz Dance History So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, these are Just a few of the extremely popular dance shows on television that have made dances like the waltz popular. But if you read the history of waltz, you would know that this dance form that has people rushing to sign up for classes today, was almost ostracizes when it was first introduced. We remarked with pain that the indecent foreign dance called the Waltz was introduced (we believe for the first time) at the English court on Friday last . T is quite sufficient to cast ones eyes on the voluptuous intertwining of the limbs and close compressors on the bodies in their dance, to see that it is indeed far removed from the modest reserve which has hitherto been considered distinctive of English females. So long as this obscene display was confined to prostitutes and adulteresses, we did not think it deserving of notice; but now that it is attempted to be forced on the respectable classes of society by the civil examples of their superiors, we feel it a duty to warn every parent against exposing his daughter to so fatal a contagion. The Times of London, 16th of July, 1816. That review, if it w as any other dance form, would have probably cast such a long chances of its revival would have been very bleak. But then this is the waltz we are talking about, a dance form that not only survived the severe criticism it faced like Ewing called wicked, vulgar and an indecorous exhibition, but also has today become one of the most popular ballroom dancing forms, also heralded as one of the most graceful styles of dancing. While the history may have been tainted by accusations of being vulgar, it has left behind the maliciousness it encountered to become a beautiful dance form with a rich heritage. History of Waltz Dance Originating in the suburbs of Vienna and in the alpine areas of Austria, the waltz is one of the oldest ballroom dances in the world, born somewhere around the seventeenth century. Even before it was introduced in the courts, it was danced by he peasants and common folk in Austria. In fact, most of the waltz songs that the waltz is danced to can be traced back to the widening tunes sung by the peasants in Austria. The folk dance that the peasants danced to, which is considered to be the forerunner of the dance form is Lander. Soon, people started dancing a style that developed from this form of dance, called the Waller. The dance was so named after the Latin word evolved which referred to the rotating motion that was so typical of the Waller. An interesting snippet about the dance is that it owes its popularity to soldiers. After Napoleon invaded Germany, the dance was adopted by the soldiers and taken back to France, where its allemande version became very popular. The dance then moved on to the royal courts of England where it came under fierce criticism in an orthodox setting, due to the close hold style of the dance form, the first time in the history of any court dance style. Any book or article on the history of the waltz dance will also tell you that the dance faced even more opposition due to the fact that it could be learned easily when compared to other court dances that were prevalent in the period like minuet. These dances needed a lot of practice and needed a dancer to develop good postures and demeanor as compared to the easy waltz dance steps for beginners who were learning to waltz. In about 1830, Waltz dance saw a sudden surge of popularity with the help of compositions by Austrian composers Straus and Lea ner. They composed tunes that would later became popular as the melodies, to which Viennese waltz is danced. These tunes were faster and though they presented an initial problem due to fast rhythm, the style became hugely popular. The dance style was soon imported by the United States and made TTS presence felt in societies in both New York and Philadelphia.
